The Food-The basic requirement of a human being

Food, a substance containing protein, carbohydrates, fats, and other nutrients used in the body of an organism to sustain growth, vital processes, and provide energy. The absorption and utilization of food by the body are facilitated by digestion which is the fundamental of nutrition. It is the basic need of every living organism to stay alive. Good Food is essential for health at all stages of life and is necessary for growth during infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. Human beings eat a variety of items like vegetables, fruit, cereals, meat, fish, and dairy products. There is no restriction of diet for any category of dishes. It is essential for various functions like physiological, social, and psychological functions. It also helps in regulating various activities of the body like Heartbeat, Muscle contraction, Maintenance of the body temperature, Control of water balance, Clotting of blood, and Removal of waste products from the body. Without food, living beings cannot survive in this world and the wastage of it should be avoided.

Most of the people obtain food from cultivated plants & domestic animals, some from oceans and freshwaters, and the majority of it for the human population is obtained from traditional land-based agriculture of crops and livestock. Hunting and gathering, Horticulture, Pastoralism, and the development of agriculture are the methods of obtaining food for primitive societies.

Some foods like mushrooms are not directly obtained from animal or plant sources and they are obtained from various edible fungi. Leavened bread, alcoholic drinks, cheese, pickles, etc. are considered pickled foods and are obtained from fungi and ambient bacteria. These bacteria are also used in the fermentation process. To preserve or chemically convert a component, inorganic substances like baking soda, salt, and tartar cream are used. Spirulina which is known as blue-green algae is also one of the substances used in the preparation of a dish.

There are different cuisines like Italian, Chinese, and Indian cuisines are available. The Italian cuisine which is more popular consists of dishes like Pizza and Pasta which are loaded with cheese. Chinese cuisine mainly consists of dishes like Chinese noodles, fried rice, and Dumplings. The Indian cuisines consist of many varieties of Food and are mainly filled with a lot of herbs and spices. It includes both veg and non-veg dishes and is in the form of curry and also has the branch for Mughal cuisine where it includes most of the non-vegetarian dishes in it.
